When I click on a link in an Email in Outlook it doesn't work
This is a security feature in Outlook 2003 and happens when URLs are copied from one email message and pasted into another message. It's added by the sender's copy of Outlook; the recipient can't adjust settings to remove it.
The sender can control it by adjusting the blocked external context setting in Outlook 2003. You'll find these settings on the Tools, Options, Security, Change Automatic Download Settings menu or click on the Infobar of a message containing blocked content and choose Change Automatic Download Settings.
How to turn off the "Don't download pictures or other content automatically in HTML e-mail" option
You can turn off the Don't download pictures or
other content automatically in HTML
e-mail option. When you turn off this option, no content from the Internet
in HTML e-mail messages is blocked. When this option is off, the download
behavior of Outlook 2003 is like the inline content download behavior of
earlier versions of Microsoft Outlook.
To turn off the Don't download pictures or other content automatically in HTML e-mail option, follow
these steps:
1. Start Outlook.
2. On the Tools menu, click Options.
3. Click the Security tab, and then click Change Automatic Download Settings.
4. In the Automatic Picture Download Settings dialog box, click to clear the Don't download pictures or other content automatically in HTML e-mail check box.
5. Click OK two times.
Note You may also be prevented from clicking on links in your Junk Email settings. To fix this:
1.Start Outlook.
2. On the Tools menu, click Options.
3. Click the Preferences tab, and then click Junk Mail.
4. Uncheck the box next to "Don't turn on links in messages....
5. Click OK two times.
Finally, if all else fails, the issue is that another browser besides Internet Explorer is set as your default browser. Make sure Internet Explorer or another browser is set as a default browser.
1. Open Internet Explorer
2. Go to Tools>Internet Options>Programs Tab>Check the box that reads "Tell me if Internet Explorer is not the default browser" and click on the button that says "make default. Click Apply then OK.
