How to Setup a Linksys Router For DSL PPOE

1. Make sure the DSL modem has the DSL light on.

2. Ensure the Linksys Router is turned on and connected to your main computer.

3. Open your web browser and type the following address: 192.168.1.1 and hit enter.

4. There is no username. For the password, type admin in lowercase. Hit enter.

5. Click on Setup.

6. Under the first popup menu, Internet Connection Type, ensure that PPPoe is selected.

7. Under User Name, type your entire SBC email address.

8. Under Password, type your password.

9. Go the bottom of the page and choose Save Settings.

10. Go to the Status page of the router. Click on Connect if the Login Status shows Disconnected. Wait until it reads Connected.

11. If you have trouble connecting, power down the DSL modem, your computer, and the router. Power down the DSL modem for 60 seconds. Plug it back in and wait for all lights to illuminate.

12. Now power up your router. Wait 10 seconds. Power up your computer and reconnect to the router using the instructions above. Go to step 10 and reattempt to connect. If you connect, you are finished.
