Accessing a Vista machine from XP is not accessible "Access is Denied"

We assume they have the same workgroup name, are on the same subnet, and file sharing is enabled and the the firewall is set to allow this.

You next need to add the Everyone group to the security tab of the share (in vista) and giving that group full access.

1) Right click on the folder in Vista you want to share

2) Left click on Share>Click on the Security Tab

3) Click on Edit

4) Click on Add

5) Type the name Everyone in the "Enter Object" field and clkcik on "Check Names"

6) Cloci OK and make sur ethe Full Control and modify buttonare checked to allow under the everyone name.

7) Click on Apply, then OK
